I went to 5 bookshops yesterday 17 Years, 1 Month ago
to buy Cold Cream, the Ferdinand Mount autobio that reads very well, judging by excerpts - sold out in every one. So I bought the new Sistine Chapel book instead - fab closeups and I'm visiting it again in the Vatican this summer. I'm often amazed by the frequency sellers underestimate the demand for a book or a record. It's not unusual for them to sell out on the first day.

A few years ago only one of the shops in my town stocked the new Hanson CD. I went at 10am to buy a copy and they had sold out. I went to other shops and was told by each that they hadn't bothered to order any as they didn't believe it would sell.

I went to another 5 bookshops today including Daunts and nobody had Cold Cream - finally I found one and bought it in Waterstones Notting Hill. Clearly a much in demand book. Enter code here Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.
