TOPIC: James Whale sacked...

James Whale sacked... 15 Years, 11 Months ago
...from Talksport for urging listeners to vote for Boris. Unwise maybe, but given the biased and often downright unpleasant political views spouted from the talentless Jon Gaunt on the same station, this is a shame. Not to mention the complete freedom given to the Press to tell their gullible readership who to vote for at every election. Why such inconsistency in the standards expected from different types of media?

I have admired the Mighty Whale's broadcasting ever since he was on Radio Aire, Leeds, during my student days in the mid 80's. I'm sure he will continue to be a success in new projects, assuming he wants to.

I was quite shocked at this - Whale has been an institution at the station since it started, I wonder who they will replace him with??

I've known about this for some days.
James is a brilliant broadcaster and a very brave man. He was the only radio host who dared have me on after I was released to put my side of the story (apart from Victoria Derbyshire whose intentions were nasty though she failed).
He will, I'm sure, be swiftly picked up elsewhere.

Maybe they should return him to late night TV.

Like Alan Brazil (when he was sacked a few years ago), he'll be reinstated once Talksport looks at the rating between 10pm and 2am. But the question is will he come back?

I won't be listening between 10 and 2 anymore.

A shopping channel is a promotion from the odious talksport.
