As no one has yet commented on this situation I thought I'd add my own two Pen'orth !

I see the regime now says it will welcome aid but refuses to accept people (experienced in this type of relief) into the country to help distribution etc.

With appx 100,000 dead and around a million facing starvation (and soon disease) it appears that keeping it's secretive state private from the rest of the world's prying eyes is a bigger priority for this regime than actually helping its own people.

You would expect condemnation for such a stance - but I doubt Burma will ever be condemned as a "State of evil" - they have been very good arms buyers over the years for both Britain and the USA !

I'm afraid that's exactly it ITK - like charity fatigue we all have compassion fatigue. It's awful but who gives a fuck? Another headline about paedophiles to keep us interested please (and watch a Sunday do a "vile paedos preying on Burmese kids" story any day now).
