As I've been travelling around I've noticed two clear things...
the world is totally dominated by MOBILE PHONE USE and computers. Whether you're in the Sahara Desert or on a main street in Nice or Naples, those bloody phones are glued to ears. Taxi drivers are really quite dangerous as they chatter away and look at the screens instead of the road. Bicyclists chatter away only just avoiding accidents. People lying by pools talk nineteen to the dozen.
One father eating a poolside meal with his son in Rome literally spoke not one word to him or to the waitress all lunch long as he waffled away with only one hand holding the fork and stuffing his face.
Secondly, traffic is a disaster. It's not just Rome (though that is the worst).
Munich is jammed with parked cars on the Autobahns too.
