What a great kid he is - built like a tank yet incredibly fast and mobile. The way he twisted around to net that ball - fabulous; nobody else could have done it.
Barrack not only bleeding but in a very nasty mood!
The best team certainly won. Many teams thrilled us at times but only Spain produced the goods consistently. Congratulations to them after 44 barren years. Come the next World Cup it will be 44 barren years for England. Is that an omen?
Good thought Anthony - has anyone noticed that, when the UK won Eurovision after 16 (?) barren years, the British entries were deteriorating just like our national football team has deteriorated?
Lesson to be learned? Put someone who cares in charge.
Well done Spain and Germany, great final, very good tournament.
As for England, we have to qualify for the next World Cup before we can start any predictions. O
Only one team from the qualifying group can automatically go into the World Cup, and if you get the fewest points in second, then you won't get through to the 2 legged match with another 2nd place side.
I can't see England winning anything until we sweep out the old non-achievers and make a fresh start with players who see playing for their country as an honour rather than an entitlement. We need players with enthusiasm and drive - and talent. So, we need a manager who's bold enough to make these changes. Each one, so far, hasn't been any different to the last.
Experience only counts when that experience is tied to success.
