Women who claim they had to kill their men because they were beaten up now get small sentences but men who claim they were provoked by the women are no longer to put forward that defence because (as brain dead minister squawks) "we need to stop people blaming their victims".

Aren't they aware of the irony and contradiction?

Or do they not regard women as "people"?

That sounds like a Jacqui Smith kind of policy. Was she behind this? I've always found her to be very idiotic and unsuitable for such a high ranking job. Also, she is a bad representation of women. We are not all paranoid bimbos.
