this stuff is quite funny sometimes ! 15 Years, 9 Months ago
www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/news/article11951.ece

The usual piece in the NoTW about Gary Glitter's release written by a hapless journalist named Daniel Sanderson.(one really should feel sorry for a hack like Sanderson who has been told to make the piece as spicy as possible-a big career ahead..not !)

Poor Gliiter is now accused of being "old" along with other things and outrageouly wants to return to the UK to access "OUR" UK hospitals !!

Hello !!..Mr Sanderson you write for a newspaper owned by a former Australian who took out US citizenship and has incorporated his company in Delaware to avoid scrutiny and to keep a stranglehold over shareholder's voting rights under Delaware law. ( one good reason for not buying News Ltd shares). His ex-wife, Estonian born Anna Murdoch, still controls a block of her son's voting rights ,gave up her Australian citizenship for a US passport -Lachlan Murdoch born in the US took out Australian citizenship while James Murdoch has taken British citizenship-all in order to gerrymander a voting control over news Ltd shares. His current Chinese born wife Wendy and 2 daughters hold US citizenship but are negotiating joint Chinese citizenship which is forbidden under Chinese law.

In other words-Sanderson works for a man whose loyalty is to no country and citizenship is a "covenience" to avoid taxes etc.

Meanwhile, Gary Glitter is a British subject and fully entitled to access HIS UK Health system !( apparently your'e "whiny" if you talk about your illnesses !).

In the snap of Glitter (apparently with a "leering smirk")he looks remarkably like the Communist hero Lenin !

Honestly-this newspaper is now so close to resembling Private Eye it's difficult to tell if they are not sending themselves up sometimes !

Yes I chuckled at that over my morning Blue Mountain too Veritas.

You can be sure they have a huge spread lined up either next Sunday, just before his release, or the one after.

Then they will ignore him.

Magnificently predictable like punch drunk boxers.

Maybe Glitter and Murdoch are equally evil? Just in different ways. Whatever NOTW prints, it has to be said that we'll all be following the story on his release. Its an interesting story and the public lap it up. Equally, I think more credit should be given to NOTW readers. Don't you think most read between the lines?

I suppose there are thousands who do read between the lines and chuckle !.These days-life is so fast I doubt people even retain the information very long. Anyway that's the advice my friend who is a criminal lawyer gives his clients when their case hits the press..he always advises it will be forgotten within the month as the general public's retention rate on information is actually falling all the time (repetitive advertisment may confirm this fact !)

I admit I've read it for years and the tales of a hundred errant vicars.

I believe they have become more vicious though under Murdoch as he has no qualms.

Remember the fake "Hitler Diaries" fiasco when the hired historian Hugh trevor Roper told Murdoch they were definitely fake. Murdoch said publish anyway as "we're in the entertainment business" and that was in the then respected Sunday Times.

Publishing a newspaper should carry some resposibilities-afterall many say George Bush/ Tony Blair & John Howard could not have taken their respective countries into the Iraq War without the full support of News Ltd's strangelhold of publications.

Murdoch gave an interview on Australian radio in 2004 which I heard-he confidently predicted that oil would be around $US25 a barrel "soon", by the end of the Iraq War ( whenever that may be !)
