Good letter JK with valid points.

I have NO faith in the Police - in fact only yesterday in a VICE OPERATION one of those arrested was a POLICE OFFICE !! which about sums it up.

As the BBC programme perfectly portrayed in CRIMINAL JUSTICE - the truth is first casualty of the UK Criminal Justice system.

In an ideal World the Police would be fair. But I would say in the light of your experience and everyone else I have ever spoken to - the best defence if being accused of any crime ( however small - litter etc ) is to remain totally silent. The Police usually use your "own explanation" to construct a case against you as CRIMINAL JUSTICE showed. With nothing to go on there is literally no case against you if you are innocent.

We still have the "innocent until proven guilty" system in the UK - you made a massive mistake by thinking the Police would listen to you. They do not listen to anyone. They are meeting targets - no one rewards them if they find the truth - in some ways you cant blame them but inncocent people are being taken blatantly to court more than ever before because they have a "rose tinted" view of justice fed to them by a media who portray the Police as "heroes" and "Truth seekers" which could not be further from the truth.

It is sad but true.
