Deserve all the congrats they are getting,

And no apparent drugs scandals although I bet they are s**t hot on testing people these days

Interesting that they are all in non-typical Olympic "sports" such as rowing and cycling - all events that were never in the original Olympics.

Perhaps we should introduce a few more categories for London ? Tea making, perhaps ? We'd do well in that too !

I love the fact we're doing so well but it is a bit odd; check out the actual medals and you'll see Australia and Russia have far more medals than we do but we just pip them both in golds.

Surely the main table ought to be totals for all medals?

As for your legitimate cynicism ITK, the world constantly changes; if we pretended it didn't, cars and airplanes would be disqualified in speed records.

ITK - the GB team admit they haven't got athletics conquered yet and that knowledge is a big step in the right direction.

I am looking forward to the newspaper article reporting that the Olympics is getting easier these days like A-Levels and GCSE's

Britain has always been much better at sports than we've been given credit for. Many victories in tournaments have gone un-noticed because they are not "the big one".

Of course, the Olympics is the big one, but by the time football rolls around again the papers will forget about it and start up with the usual tales of how we fail at everything!
