Brilliant review of VPTM in this month's Bizarre Magazine 15 Years, 9 Months ago
P109 - loads of photos and a terrific spread by our loyal supporters ...

"Vile Pervert is the quintessential Bizarre movie; edgy, uncompromising, hilarious and weird and created by a true outsider who doesn't give a fuck whether you like him or not".

Couldn't have put it better myself.

The BIZARRE team at Dennis are involved in the brand new book on the Music Industry which I mentioned on the Tipsheet ( Strange all of this )

www.magazine-group.co.uk/magazine-group/...ke-it-in-music.thtml

Anyone who likes music and likes Bizarre Magazine will probably love this book

Good to see many in the Indpendent Media companies of the UK are beginning to make the break with the Government Controlled Media of the National Press and Broadcasting.

What makes me laugh is that I have friends who work for Murdoch etc. and they are lovely people but they seem to ignore the agenda which is being carried out at the moment around the World. The USA - Australia and UK are the leading parts of this as someone else has mentioned - funny how that is where MURDOCH's EVIL EMPIRE is based from.........I leave it to you to decide whether this is co-incidental or not.

I'v got to say, that article changed my opinion of you a lot, JK!
Figured that if Bizarre like you, then you're probably not a bad guy. Amazing how a magazine that prints images of pigs being suckled by womem, disabled men being strung up by hooks and a disturbing image of Jesus Christ Fucking the Virgin Mary always gives the most fair, unpatronising and non judgmental articles on the issues they choose to discuss.
I guess it may be a kick in the teeth to go from "King of Pop" to eccentric outsider stardom, because the tabloids fucked you over. But to us, you've become as big an inspiration as the "S,O,P,H,I,E" campaign im involved in to question the "justice" system.
Good luck with the next film!

I have to say, not only has the magazine been hugely, hugely supportive but they are very nice people too.

Genuine, honest, bright.

I love their attitude to music - very healthy. I don't "get" the rest of the magazine at all though - completely on another planet. Possibly where I should be!

The important thing is - they at least bother (and dare) to listen (and look).

You'd think "liberal" publications like The Guardian would review the movie or the album, even if they called it rubbish, but every single one seems to avoid any mention at all.

Censorship by silence. That's the ugly reality.

I think the social approach is "don't mention him, he's dangerous".

good for you and further proof that your strategy-not slinking off and hiding away-has been brilliant.

Basically you have given the tabloid media a 2 fingered salute and called their bluff, demonstrating that a lot of their power is simply bullying and bluster.

If only politicians realised this as well.
*****************

as for someone who mentioned those working for Murdoch etc-I also know lots of nice people in the media but the problem is they have families and mortgages and aren't in a position to stand up to the rubbish they have to write. Many of them abhor the stuff they have to churn out but have sort of resigned themselves to it.

I think the days of when working on a newspaper was really a thrilling job-the noise, excitement, clamour and urgency to stick to deadlines is well and truly over.

I don't think censorship enters into it, it's simply of such little interest to most people it doesn't warrant news... no "good story".

Same here, it was reading the article in Bizarre that made me actually check Vile Pervert out online. And boy was I impressed.

As views/downloads creep towards 25,000 full length in 4 months, a friend e-mails me to point out most movies never get seen by anyone and those that do open in cinemas get a few hundred seats on bums before being relegated to DVD.

Vile Pervert; The Musical has been able to be seen and/or downloaded for free online and the result has been incredible - if several people have watched the downloaded ones (about half the total, with a significant quantity of heavy "burn to DVD/R's" - that takes several hours to download) we can reckon on hundreds of thousands and many more have dipped in to watch some but not all.

From my e-mails (much appreciated and thank you) this is having a serious impact on social attitudes.

And we've even sold a few hundred DVDs.
