Very moving excerpts this morning from her book.

I remain a huge admirer of Maggie - as a woman and as a human being - whilst remaining totally opposed to 80% of her political and social attitudes.

The one area I did agree with was her economic and financial approach. I reckon we can thank her and her team for the 90s and 00s - up until recently. They were the inheritance after the disaster of the Wilson/Callaghan (and Heath) years.

I hated Thatcher's policies and I reckon she's responsible for all the stuff-ups today. Blair was like Maggie on steroids.

But you had to admire the woman. I met here about 10 years ago in Sydney. She was coming for some private visit and the hotel she was staying at-the manager, a friend, asked me if I would take some photos of he and her when she arrived. I jumped at the chance.

First thing that struck me- a much softer looking and smaller woman than I had imagined and very attractive. She posed and I took pictures..and then she snapped at me.."I wasn't quite ready then young man-do it again!".
I think I jumped about six foot and fell into a complete grovel. Now I know why she was able to twist all those Conservative ministers around her little finger !
