One really sweet one...

I stayed up late to watch this. If it were only possible for JK to stand for election, I would certainly vote for him. Whilst he seems to have an inexhaustible capacity to be upbeat and forward looking, I found much of the 'musical' (a most brilliant and hard-hitting piece of polemic) simultaneously humorous and appalling - because of the grotesque travesty of justice involved.

I remember at the time of his convicition, long before the horror that was to descend on me, that I privately felt he was being viciously scapegoated and that his imprisonment had nothing to do with justice, and everything to do with publicists, tabloid editors and 'trailer trash victims' seeking lucrative remuneration for their (massaged) concoctions. Sorry - that last sentence made me sound horribly snobbish; I have working class origins myself. But it is only the shittiest layer of the working class, in my youth, at any rate, that would resort to stitching up another human being for personal gain.

I was astounded by his broad-shouldered acceptance of tabloid nefariousness, although of course he is absolutely right: it is only when the educated elite - judges, legislators, lawyers and so on -allow themselves to be governed by febrile tabloid simplicities that liberty (and the rule of law) is endangered.

I am deeply impressed and hugely admiring - he makes my crouched, rocking foetal position in the aftermath of State violence look pathetic! Wherever he gets his courage from, I want some of it.

people forget that children can be wonderful innocent and unspolit angels..but there are also some who are malaevolant.

I was reminded of this when I was asked to look after an old Aunt I detested-no-one else in the family would. I did my duty and once reamrked to her doctor how awful and nasty she could be and that I hated the idea of growing old like her.

He replied-it's nothing to do with age..she's probably been a nasty sod all her life..a nasty little girl, nasty middle-age woman-a nasty old pensioner !

I see you as a very talented man; a bit nutty but talented regardless.

I'll say it again JK-I've never met you but you once met with an artist I managed many years ago in New York.

Correct if I'm wrong but you then lived up around 57th Street. ( maybe 54th-who knows) I had your phone number along with others-managers and such who were big at the time. You were one of the only ones who responded positively and agreed to see my artist for an hour at your apartment. ( the other was Bill Acoin who I recommeded should take on Billy Idol-he did and the rest is history)

It's little things like that which make all the difference. One very high profile record company exec. who should remain nameless, offered my artist a $50,000 contract if he slept with him for one night-this boy was fantastically handsome ( this guy has a reputation for this and some of todays biggest artists are on his label... My guy-completely straight-said- no !.)

JK-you gave my artist some of the best advice he's ever had-he's never forgot. Today he is one of the highest paid session musicians in the UK. Every 2 years or so we get together-he's got a wife and 3 kids. I've often discussed you and your predicament with him.

I don't think I need to tell you musicians are a breed of people competely unique. The first he heard of your legal dilemnas I asked my bloke what he thought-his reply.."JK as far as I'm concerned is a person who I will never forget-without his encouragement I would never have succeeded. I will always remember JK with fondness and as a man with complete integrity. I do not believe what they are saying about him"
