From what I see from all these vintage clips, "Good Evening" was great fun! What a sad shame they ended up being wiped, as was the practise of the day.

Fascinating to see the brief bit of the band... is that not a certain Ian Hunter on bass, a year or so before the Hoople came along and seemed to have his shades surgically welded to his head? They perform that number on a 1968 edition of German TV's "Beat Club". Miller Anderson was in that band too... a very gifted writer and musician.

BTW JK... Nice "subtle" plug for VPTM!

So the rock'n'roll revival started in England, in 1968? I thought Sha-Na-Na were the first r&r-retro-act, but they came on year later.

Does anybody know when the british radio stations began playing "oldies"?

Yes I was astonished to see a Rock'Roll revival so early!
