As usual for one of the best TV series on air, the Jerry Springer show was brilliant and moving.

But it made me wonder, in this day of enlightened Britain, does the headline SHOOT GLITTER in the News of the World remind anyone of the "Chase The Jews" era of Nazi Germany?

But would the media then have dared print headlines like that?

Of course, those encouraging witch hunts today would say Jews did nothing wrong - the Nazis were very busy blaming them for every crime and problem in the world, through the media. If monsters are to be created a climate of exaggeration and inflation combines with invention and caricatures of big noses and piles of money to turn ordinary people into monsters and stoke fires in the bellies of morons which then infects normal people.

Nobody could fail to be horrified by the extermination in the Holocaust.

But may I quietly mention that the crimes being committed by the Western governments come close to the initial starters like the awful "gas vans"?

The murders in our name and with our money in Iraq, Afghanistan... the miscarriages of justice and the persecution of innocent Muslims and those whose sexual tastes veer away from the norm... the quest for "a good story"... they all are beginning to look awfully like the early 30s in Germany where the majority of decent citizens didn't dare question the behaviour of the leaders.
