There are as many debunking Conspiracy Sites out there as Conspiracy Sites.

Conspiracies dont really bother me that much - many of the people who get wound up about these things do have a high level of paranoia.

The 9/11 attacks were real - but we will never know who was actually behind them because the waters are very muddy. The LOCKERBIE programme on BBC2 last night showed the problems in trying to find out who DID plant the bomb and who was behind it. Even though Libya admitted responsibility - they then said they only did this to remove sanctions and that it was a "game".

The TRUTH might actually be very far removed from the "official record" which continues to fuel conspiracies. Equally until hard evidence exists to prove what actually happened then all theories are just that - theories.

The Pentagon 9/11 has always perplexed me - what happened to the plane ? why did no one see it crash into the Pentagon or any CCTV cameras ( In New York the flights were filmed by hundreds of cameras )

The Third Tower also seems to be a very strange tale - and it does look like it was a controlled demolition. But why not ? the building was in a dreadful state.....

I think that reading authors like DAVID ICKE and ALEX JONES who actually put forward hard evidence for any theories and research around it before committing pen to paper or in their talks. They equally dismiss 90% of Conspiracy Theory as misjudged or just paranoid delusions.

Our government was prepared to lie about Weapons of Mass Destruction to us - and pretended they had not planned the Iraq War........that is proof enough that on the BIG decisions our Government does not have a good and honest record.

do you think it's good ?

Personally I think there are only conspiracies that we don't yet know about. Afterall-government itself is almost a conspiracy.

Anti-conpsiracists are a bit like sceptics who believe because they prove one thing isn't correct-that it therefore follows all other things aren't true.

For instance-I've know Uri Geller very well for years and I'm very fond of him. There's a lot about Uri that is part showman-part huckster but he has done his spoon bending etc demonstrations while I've been a few feet from him and I've never yet been able to see any evidence of fraud. And I've had things bend in my own pocket at the same time-like car keys ( which was most incovenient).

I prefer to challenge anti-conspiracists and sceptics in the manner they always challenge others-prove there is no God or Heaven etc. It's much easier to demand people prove something-than ask them to disprove something. No sceptic has ever yet taken me up on my challenge although they easily issue challenges themselves.

As for 9/11-who knows the real truth behind it-certainly not me ?. There still so many questions surrounding the event that have never been answered. I do know one thing-ask a New Yorker and very few believe the story they were told.

I'll take you up on disproving God - perhaps it calls for a new thread.

Step one is please define God.

We make up our minds on the evidence we are given. Not the evidence that we are not given. This means it is very hard to gain the truth about things. In any case truth can be influenced by bias and perspective and experience.

Therefore both the Conspiracy Theorist and the Anti Conspiracy Theorist could be making points of truth about the same situation - yet the full picture about certain things may never be known.

Taking one fact in isolation is what most Conspiracy Theorists do - and then pretend the other facts do not exist. This is why they get such a bad press and many describe them as nut jobs. However, there are elements of truth in the 9.11 stories which seem to have undermined the official version - and we do see an increasing amount of Global Control of our lives by a sort of World Government. Certainly all the financial markets sing to the same tune and the G8 politicians.

Guys I did not intend to stir debate about whether God does or does not exist.

We could apply the same debate to "reality"

My belief in God is based on Faith not anything else - how could it.

In the same way that each morning I wake up and have the faith that the Earth continues turning and the sun is still there and we will all still be here - that could be wrong one day of course.

I dont need to prove God and certainly it is impossible to disprove God.

I have been putting forward a Godcentric view on some of the debates because I genuinely believe that the views as expressed by Jesus in the Bible are the best way to live out of anything I have ever read or come accross in my life. The Church/religion does not necessarily represent these views well as we all know.

Read the Gospels and decide for yourself whether Jesus actually has any answers or whether what he is saying is a load of rubbish.

You're not making very easy for me are you

@BR

"...certainly it is impossible to disprove God."

I'm quite willing to give this a go, it'd be quite interesting.

All we need to start is a definition of God.

Some people only need God when they're at the coffin dodging stage in their life.
