When the case first came to light, his lawyers were told that if he voluntarily went to the US and was convicted, he should expect a sentence of no more than a couple of years. He refused, and now they want to fry him...?
I heard that there is also a chance that the poor chap may end up in Guantanamo as an 'enemy combatant'. WTF?
This is a bloke who managed to breach some of the most *ahem* secure networks on the planet. After each hack, he left messages to highlight the lack of security in the system.
Why don't they just give him a job. Sounds like they could use his advice.
