Adults without children banned from park 15 Years, 8 Months ago
Park wardens have been ordered to stop and interrogate anyone who is not accompanied by children.

The visitors who are quizzed have to explain their presence and risk being thrown out or reported to police if their answers are not satisfactory.

The policy has been introduced at Telford Town Park in Shropshire. The council which manages the 420-acre area says it is a 'commonsense approach' aimed at safeguarding children.

But park users accused it of 'authoritarian madness' and said the ruling risked panicking parents about the dangers faced from potential paedophiles.

Absolute lunacy!

They go further - you need a CRB check in order to enter the park !

This country is sliding into being a Police State faster than anyone can even write up the stories each day.

Every day there are about 10 - 20 media reports on the growing Police State - and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

The people need to REBEL against this. We must get NEW LABOUR out of power as soon as possible before our country is bankrupt - and no one can go anywhere without ID and CRB checks.

We are all heading towards a totalitarian house arrest - and even then our lawns and gardens are now under the snoopers radar.

I think the two 'penguins' were said to need CRB checks because, as they were handing out leaflets, they were considered to be working. It's still rather extreme, but not quite the same as all visitors needing a CRB certificate before being allowed to enter.

I'm sure they'll get round to that though.

WOW !

so there go my visits to Hyde Park and Hampstead Heath !

or will I borrow a child to go for my long walks ?

maybe a doll in a pram and I could get away with it

possibly more sensible : children should be accompanied by adults..but errr..that wouldn't work either..the adult could be a pedo !!

I see that this has been instituted by a Tory council - so much for Cameron changing anything if/when he gets in.

No doubt this is but a further step to a not-too-distant time where single adults or childless couples or anyone who looks funny or shows the slightest hint of individual behaviour or character will be rounded up and placed in special detention camps. All to protect the children, of course.

We're heading back to medieval times with a vengeance.

In medieval times we still had a Saxon based justice which enforced the burden of proof and presumption of innocence. Punishments were more severe, but trials were generally fairer than today.

It was the later, "more enlightened", generations who made us less safe.
