86% RISE IN FALSE ALLEGATIONS in SCHOOLS ! 15 Years, 8 Months ago
Shocking news that research has shown that in UK schools there has been an 86% rise is suspensions of teachers because of allegations of abuse last year.

If you take the figures than about 2% of the profession is now suspended each year. That means in a career length of 20 years on average we are seeing ONE IN FOUR teachers facing suspension at some time in their career because of false allegations.

This would mean 25% of teachers are Paedophiles if the allegations were true.

Is it little wonder that as this term starts 600 - 1,000 schools have started WITHOUT a HEADTEACHER. No wonder teachers are leaving the profession in higher numbers than ever before. Plus if you were 21 would you risk your future by working in a New Labour school where you could be suspended just for enforcing homework.

Kids are turning around to their teachers and making threat of allegations all the time - and so discipline in state schools is collapsing.

I seem to remember a certain JK saying a few years ago that this false allegation industry could be quite frightening in the future........it seems as if the future has arrived.

My advice - DONT TEACH ! until the whole FALSE ALLEGATION system is reformed. Until they guarantee ANON for ALL - and until they suspend once a teacher has been CONVICTED ( innocent until proven guilty remember ) I would say that teaching is one of the worst jobs anyone could aspire to. Shame because Education is so important - but it is now tainted by the New Labour Political Correctness assumption that everyone is a criminal unless you can prove otherwise.

Shocking stuff.

Don't teach? Not really beneficial to the kids is it? Whats more important? Lets have no teachers and have un-educated kids on the street. What kind of world do you want? I'm surprised considering the amount of criticism you have towards the way society is going. Ever thought of leaving the UK and live a more peaceful existence? All you seem to do on these boards is moan. Constantly. Lets have some positve comments from you BR.

I've not heard anything about this. Can you provide a link to some reliable source - or at least say where you read/heard this?

Thanks.

I love the UK as a place and the people. This is where I want to be.

The current level of BIG BROTHER interference in our lives and the poor justice system effects us all and is making our quality of life lower than it should be.

I dont have the money to move.

I also dont want to.

If we all complained and moaned more then we could change things - this is essential to protect our way of life.

I do suggest you read the FRONT PAGE of the GUARDIAN today and you check out the latest POLICE initiative which allows us all to get information on whoever we want including about false allegations !!

I've never had a job where children were involved but I can tell you now-I would never even consider being in the same room as children on my own whether workwise or other.

There is one thing that could possibly solve this as men are leaving the teaching profession in droves ( and who can blame them)..put cameras in every single part of a school..classrooms..hallways..common areas..playgrounds .. sports fields etc. That is about the only way I can think of protecting teachers from false allegations.

In fact-I now have a small cam attached to my car ( like cop cars) just to protect myself from a false driving allegation !

on this subject: here's a charming Murdoch newspaper headline :

Rampant abuse includes 'sex club' for six year olds
www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24336761-2...html?from=public_rss

"THREE boys aged six ran a sex club at a Brisbane state school demanding and receiving sexual favours from Year 2 classmates.

One outraged father claimed yesterday the school did not bother to tell him for more than a week that his son was involved.

He spoke out as similar stories emerged at state schools on the Gold and Sunshine coasts and Cairns, which indicate the sexual abuse of young students by other school children appears rampant."

******************************
Now I don't know what others think but if a six year old is capable of having sex at their own instigation then I am a monkey's uncle !

I seriously worry how they will treat this..are they going to accuse these kids of unspeakable crimes and give them hang-ups for the rest of their lives ?.

Certainly I can remember at a very young age lots off fooling about between friends but it just wasn't sexual-exploratory yes-something deep in the brain obviously thought the private parts of our bodies were fascinating.. or did we ? I can't remember..all I remember is we did it and no-one got hurt..and I've seen the same friends 30 years later and we laughed about how silly we were.
I guess I'm just lucky we weren't all up on charges..!!

I would assume this matter has to be looked into to see whether the kids were imitating things that may have happened to them by adults..but the hysteria this case is generating you would think these 6 year olds are about to be lynched !

Angel - many of your responses appear deliberately intended to incite - you clearly went to the Max Clifford school of media management.

BR is sadly stating the obvious and the truth - anyone considering teaching as a profession would be mad to do so until and unless society cleans up its act.

Some years ago, just after my release on parole, I witnessed a swarthy, heavy set man smash his fist into the face of a little girl - his daughter, I assume - in Harrods - and none of us did anything (though every bone in my body told me to intervene on her behalf).

My (very good) probation officer said I did the right thing NOT getting involved.

"The way they twist things around", she said, "You would almost certainly have been recalled to prison if you had intervened".

That is the world we have created and are developing.

We locked up the Good Samaritan years ago.

These days we'd probably stone him to death.

Horrible story JK - not only might you have ended up back in prison if intervening - you may have ended up in hospital or worse. People wont intervene anymore and who can blame them.

Veritas - that is an interesting take on everything. If they have loads of cameras then we can possibly improve our safety by having loads of cameras as well.

The only trouble is if you film the Police in anyway at all they arrest you ( look at all the stories on the Climate Protesters sites )

Our future generations are being done a dis-service by the overprotective Nanny State which is turning kids into robots with no idea what risk is or how to stay safe. Why should the Police or Government have responsibility for every aspect of someones life ?

I'm sorry that you think that some of my comments appear to incite. They honestly don't. What would be the point? Some comments, and this may surprise you, incite me. I am merely expressing that some comments lately in my opinion are made without any consideration. Yes, it seems that what was once deemed appropriate is now sadly the reverse. For what its worth, i truly believe that we should all behave like we "used to do". If we did, then maybe we could make a positive change.

I considered teaching as a profession when I was still at school, but by my final year I had begun to see how teachers were losing control of the classroom. After seeing one teacher back down in a confrontation with a pupil, because she had no power to take any further action, I abandoned that ambition. I knew things would get worse.

Now I am so glad I avoided that path, even though I still believe I would have been a good teacher.
