Regulars will know I love ITV3 - I watch more of it than any other channel and have done for years.

Ruth Rendell was brilliant last night and her first novel, From Doon To Death - was shown - it was fabulous.

Adapted by George Baker who plays Wexford and featuring a gorgeous young Amanda Redman (so superb in New Tricks).

I met Baker when I was 14.

Last night's Simisola was absolutely excellent - I'm so glad ITV3 is repeating them; I never saw them originally in the mid 90s and they are SO much better than anything on the main channels. And another great episode last night about a mysterious gender murder... these are very well written and acted and I'm astonished I didn't watch them in the 90s. Surprising that Rendall hasn't used it herself. She is one of the cleverest writers I have found especially in crime.Her plots are always about the most mundane people who could be living next door who commit terrible murders.
