Re:Will the Menenzes inquiry find the truth ? 15 Years, 8 Months ago
"Both officers state that they were convinced that Mr de Menezes was a suicide bomber, that he was about to detonate a bomb"
If their judgement was that a man who clearly did not have a rucksack on his back and who picked up a newspaper and was not wearing a coat of any descrition could be a suicide bomber then they must have suspected he had semtex in the heel of his shoe ?
I cant believe that the Police can make a mistake and then try and continue to cover it up with such lame excuses.
If they are allowed to get away with this then WE ARE ALL AT RISK from being shot by them - and particularly brown people who "Look like suicide bombers" which means "They are foreign"
The more the Police try and make excuses the worse it gets.
If they held up their hands and said adrenaline got the better of them and they pursued this bloke and got caught up in the "moment" because of the fear factor then I would tend to agree. At the moment it looks as if they are claiming they "made a judgement" and if that is the case then they should be put on trial for manslaughter.
The same Police killed the lawyer I believe - with the same criticisms levelled against them.
With TWO almost identical situations and yet one was WHITE and one BROWN - and both have had attempted cover ups - how can we have any confidence in armed police in London.
Sacking these Police would at least make the public believe that the culprits had been removed.
As I write this - these Police could be on my road with their guns......scary thought. MOre likely than a Paedo or a Terrorist....so what is our deluded CRAZY Ms Smith going to do about the REAL and PRESENT threat of Armed Police who assassinate innocent people ?
