I thought Brown actually gave rather a good speech 15 Years, 8 Months ago
I think we could do worse. I'm not a fan but I'm even less of a Cameron or Mad Miliband fan.

I was a big fan of Tony Blair when I met him and he was Shadow Home Secretary. He let me and the country - and humanity - down badly, sanctioning mass murder with our money.

In this time of economic problems I think we could do worse than Brown.

Much though I'd like to do better I can't see anyone else.

Tony was a figurehead that go over-lead by a country that many people do not seem to realise that the UK is not part of.

Why cant anyone else do better ?

Lets look at his financial records:

He inherited an economy with a near 800 Billion surplus under Kenneth Clarke.

Then piece by piece he dismantled the systems :

1. Got rid of the regulators with teeth and invented the FSA ( Yes BROWN was responsible for the lack of regulation not the Tories )

2. Changed the pension rules which cost many people their life savings ( including my Father who had worked all his life )

3. Sold our Gold for almost nothing - it is now worth 10 times what he sold it for. He did it to finance silly schemes which have failed.

4. Has taxed almost everything - increasing the burden of taxation to its highest since the 70s.

5. Promised no BUSTS but now blames the rest of the World - when in fact regulation of Oil companies and so on would have stopped the UK being hit by the massive price hikes which we are experiencing.

I could go on and on. A speech is easy. Doing something that actually works.

It is a MYTH that Gordon is a financial wizard. It is the same lie that sent our troops to war.

How do you know that George Obsborne is worse than Alistair Darling ? How do you know that Clegg is worse than Brown ? We dont.

I think it is time for a change. Brown is unlucky. He seems to create problems every times he does something. Sven used to be a LUCKY manager...yet we sacked him to save money. We failed to qualify. Brown is unlucky. We need to try someone else urgently because he is uninspiring and the economy is a total mess - his fault. His attempts to blame anyone else are a smokescreen. I dont see other Countries with a property meltdown like the UK - which will eventually bite.

We are on the brink of recession. Brown's only answer is to SPEND SPEND SPEND - it will all end in tears and we will be in a depression for 10 years if he is allowed to continue like this.

PS I did once work for the Government in Finance Policy.

As chancellor, Brown was like a teenager with a borrowed credit card. Once he'd exhausted that he borrowed another credit card to pay off the debt, thus creating more debt - and so it went on. Things looked good but the foundation was sand. Now that there is a global recession we have nothing to fall back on.

Just because someone has a smart suit it doesn't mean he's rich. It might just mean he's in debt to the tailor.

Brown devastated the the UK economy. A few well scripted speeches cannot undo that.

Well BR , has said many points for me there.
But what I don`t like is the UK thinking that it is one of the States of the USA and I feel that Tony, after his "Things Can Only Get Better" origination, went the way of all previous governers, of this small bunch of islands.

"Things", did of course run the predictable route of our little nation, went to war. and talked ourselves into a recession in the end.

Much as I hate the way that the USA run their politics in an X Factor style, I do believe that the public should be given an entire election to re-vote somebody in, as opposed to having a "replacement", which I`m afraid Gordon Brown is.

Only Simon Hoggart has made the obvious point that "my children are not props; they are people" was rather an unfortunate remark considering the prop who introduced him.

Well he has lost so much weight Pete that he really needs to borrow Tony`s suits, so I agree.
Lets` face it, he has already stepped into his shoes........
