I managed to get hold of a beautiful plaice. I cooked it in some butter and the remainder of the previous days french onion soup, which we had been snacking on for a while, with some mashed peas with mint and some simple chips.
The onion soup is an interesting one to keep on the stove and pretty impossible to waste.
It actually improves on the 2nd day of making, just by adding an extra cup of water and it so nice to actually have made ones own stock pot. It works well as stock for risotto as well.
