6 of our local police officers, 5 uniformed and 1 detective officer have been removed from their duties as part of an investigation. All have been ordered not to come into work. The force stressed that there was NO suspicion the officers were involved in criminal activity. The officers are in the drugs unit and have been put on unpaid leave.

I'll let you make you're own minds up.

Not really enough information for me to make my mind up on. There could be any number of reasons for suspension.

I dont know about this but the smart money says that Drugs Police - take contraband and increase their wages

Good to see that they have been "caught" - but probably it will collapse as a prosecution because they had not stolen enough

As mentioned before - a large portion of our Police run criminal activity in the UK now because of the awful way in which they are monitored. In fact I have heard recently that many Police are recruited from the criminal fraternity because ordinary people dont want to work in the Police anymore. Certainly ethnic groups have boycotted recruitment recently as well.

Sad days

I've no real love for the police, but I do say we should treat them as innocent until proven guilty - even just to set them an example of how it's done. Why be as bad as the people we criticise?

It may be something as mundane as them having had a punch up in the office.

Quite likely we'll never know.
