On my lunch-time I was in the pub happily playing the quiz machine called 'Grids for Quids', when a question came up which made my blood boil on the People and Places category.

What person would you be least likely to trust with children?
a) Jane McDonald; b) Victoria Beckham or c) Jonathan King. You know what the correct answer on the machine was.

Now I was cross for a number of reasons, but the main reason is that by now surely people or the media are missing the point as you were convicted for sexual crimes on boys who claimed to be 14 or 15 and legally a child is under the age of 14.

On a serious note, if I saw you in the street in London with my near three year old (she was born on Monday 5th December 2005, so shares the same birthday as JK), I would certainly not see JK as a threat to children.

Sorry for having a rant, but irrespective of whether you are innocent or not, media etc.. should get their facts correct on what you were convicted of (and I think that you are innocent of the convictions).

Or and for the record, Vile Pervert was a great musical and I watched it last night. I recommended it to a friend who will be downloading it tonight.

Correction she was born on the 6th as she was born at 00-08am on the Tuesday (it was a long labour). Thank god I am separated from the mother of my daughter, she would have hung drawn and quartered me for the putting the incorrect date down.

It's a shame that their is a lot of infactual information about you around, but I do appreciate what you mean.

I think the delightful media are getting a bit worried about whether your conviction was wrong as their have been a lot of miscarriage of justices reported in the papers this year.

jane mcdonald - a karoake singer with no talent and never had a hit. Worked on a boat which floated miles away from no-where and sang to fat American shareholders. Contribution to humanity : 0

victoria beckham - talentless person who masqueraded as a singer and wed a football player with genuine talent. A celeb for being a celeb. Has eating disorders and not very bright. Contribution to humanity : 0

JK : one of the most successful writers and performers of the last 40 years. Has helped thousands to achieve their dreams whilst becoming a fall guy for those who genuinely do exploit others. Does not have eating disorders but enjoys food ( from his posts ) and is happy to discuss with anyone on here any issue. Contribution to humanity : 9


The machine obviously was wrong.

More "kids" have been helped into successful music careers by JK - and to my knowledge neither Jane or Victoria has EVER LIFTED EVEN A LITTLE FINGER to help someone else achieve something.

No... I wouldn't had been too happy to see that on the machine but in this screwed up world we're in, I guess it's to be expected.

My genuine answer would had been Victoria Beckham. You couldn't leave a kid with her anyway because she'd have it dumped on a nanny! Not exactly good or healthy for the child.

JK and his music was a major part of my childhood and teens and as far as I'm concerned, it enriched me and entertained me far more than the two useless singers JK's name was up against.

It is a thrill then in adulthood to be here chatting with JK - and everybody else - on all manner of issues since he still has a lot to say and what's more he remains as entertaining as ever as one screening of VPTM amply proves.

I doubt Victoria Beckham - a vain, egotistical bore with zero talent who depends upon the media we so love to exist - is as accessible as JK is here on this site. She looks down on everybody whereas JK accepts and talks to everybody with fairness and equality even to the degree he will allow occasional negative and nasty posts here. Beckham reading such a post critical of her would be more likely to ring a lawyer and then do a pathetic sob story about to the highest bidder.

Perhaps she is so modest she doesn't crow on about her "good works".

Some people on these boards use the media's opinions to their advantage when it suits. As for Jane Macdonad, she may not have had a hit but that does not mean she lacks talent. If you check the original thread you'll find that the question posed was never about who had the most talent.

There is not a shred of evidence that JK is a threat to children, even if the crimes for which he was convicted were true (which they're NOT). Definitely not a threat to children.
I have a friend who has interviewed the Beckhams and found them an absolute delight, so I have no reason to suspect they are a threat to children.
I know nothing about Jane McDonald, having never had any dealings with her, but have no reason to suspect she is a threat to children either.
Therefore, I'd have to not press ANY button as an answer. That'd mean I lost, right? But it's the honest answer nonetheless!
What sort of sick question is that for a quiz anyway?
