16 Blocks - bloody good... 15 Years, 7 Months ago
Bruce Willis has become an excellent actor (he was brilliant in The Sixth Sense) and was great in this film which escaped on release but was on BBC1 last night with Mos Def who was also terrific.

I really enjoyed it.

Directed by Richard Donner. I thought he was dead. But he was dead good.

Brilliant. Not usually a fan of these sorts of films but it was totally engaging and unpredicable.

Never heard of it before ? but finished a great night on TV.

I like that film too, I love the way that Bruces character pulls himself together and then walks away and the added touch of the little baker guy is excellent.
The other thing that is wonderful about "16 Blocks" is how the title really refers to the simple human frustration of trying to get from A to B, a problem that the late great Mike Dicken used to moan about a lot on Talk Radio, the biggest nightmare of all would to be set up your employers on that irritating journey as is what happens in "16 Blocks".

I have a habit of treating films much like albums and often leave a fave film on whilst working and that is one of the films which I constantly revisit, along with "Regarding Henry" (Harrison Ford) and the Ray Charles story which is called , simply,"Ray".(an endless list for another day...!)

Agreed-I never really regarded Willis as an actor of note until the "Sixth Sense" which was a superb film that truly had an ending I would never have guessed and Willis did a wonderful job.

He is a superb actor who becomes convincing in his roles and "16 blocks' was a good film.

( a shame that the director of "Sixth Sense" hasn't really been able to re-produce his brilliant success although I've liked everything he has done. I think he still has another great film in him.)

Try and catch him in "The Siege" as well. Quite an ignored film basically because of the subject matter.
