I get dozens of E-Mails a day, private but prompted by this heavily visited, much read but sparsely posted site.
One such was Tony James - check out TonyJamesRadio.com - who sent me a CD/R of a two hour Capital Radio show he had recorded when I sat in for my old friend Kenny Everett and interviewed him at length.

It is fascinating - and wonderful hearing us giggle together (I introduced him to his future wife amongst other things).

A truly enjoyable listen in the car; not least for some of those incredible radio adverts from 30 years ago.

I've now completed listening and it was such fun, reminding me of how lovely Kenny was, how inventive and creative and funny; a dear friend for many years.

Someone really should make these shows commercially available.

His TV shows on Thames were a special treat for me to watch at 6/7 years of age. Having seen them again recently they still stand up - and stand up better than his more restricted BBC TV shows of the early to mid 1980s.

Kenny was cheeky but with warmth and a sort of 'mad uncle' appearance - these days we have cheekiness but with sarcasm, nastiness and sadness.
