The BBC has finally decided the one person who could win Eurovision for the UK is Andrew.

I, of course, master minded our last win in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves.

So it's my success against his potential.

Let the best man win!

Pervert versus Peer.

My money is on Pervert!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's experience is too one dimensional.

You, JK, have had your fingers in many different pies, and that versatility, coupled with your instinct for what the public likes was what brought Eurovision success to the UK. And it even took you three years to get the win!

Sir Andrew is cool and very good at what he does...but he has not got great form with pop hit singles....and the competition has become very political since the "invasion of Iraq" to an extent that the Eastern Bloc block voting makes it almost impossible for one of the main Western European countries to win.

The whole contest needs to be reworked in my view.

I must add that what impressed me most about JK's tenure was that he took three years to get it right and built through a great rap/pop hit via a dance smash to Love Shine A Light.

Llloyd Webber has a terrific track record in musicals but a tiny one in pop.
JK was - and still is, judging by Orson - the king of hits. The BBC should dare do the unthinkable and bring him back.

Next year they just might.

I think I can foresee it already.

Weeks and weeks of the usual TV voting show to produce some dated ballad that sounds like everything else ALW writes.

An unknown singer who is "going to be a star".

It will get a respectable chart position.

The BBC will be convinced they have the winner.

It will go to Russia and finish somewhere between 16-24 depending how many points Ireland, Cyprus, San Marino and Malta give it.

The change should be 1 telephone, 1 vote, then give the job back to JK and I'd give UK a chance.

I am sure that our song will be great. Sir Andrew knows how to pen a great song. The BBC can run a decent reality show.

Then we get the European End of the competition - corrupt - disorganised - political- shambles leading to a fudged vote and a poor winner.

Sounds almost like what happens in the EU doesnt it !!!

No wonder we feel more American than European in the UK.

Victor Lewis Smith did a hatchet job on Lloyd Webber on one of his TV shows which was very very funny, basically suggesting plagiarism.
