Geraldine McEwan is awful; like a caricature. The filming makes the plot and characters SO secondary to tricks and effects and style; one of the worst takeover of a series ever.
And Mayo went on getting worse and worse.

The story was written by Agatha Christie but is was NOT a Miss Marple story originally (she is not mentioned in the book anywhere).

Obviously needed some extra stories to pad out the series so simply surplanted Miss Marple into a story that she never originally featured in !

and it looked like an edited tale.
The only thing I will say is that the villain (eventually) was very dishy.

But the weekend's TV was saved by BBC1's "The Impressionists". Wonderful TV. (That and the "balls-up on Saturday's Deal or No Deal!!)

Don't know why you don't stick with the hybrids on Invasion (Channel 4)half fish/half human/half alien (that's too many halves). It's hotting up nicely.Will Mariel give birth to a shoal of fish? Will Szura get the battering he deserves? Will Russell have to move out of his plaice in the Everglades? Sorry too many puns I know.
Couldn't bear Mayo(possibly hybrids) from the start and Miss Marple(waxwork). My other half refuses to watch unless it's Margaret Rutherford in the title role! (Which dates him)
Also JK totally agree re Dr Who. Eccleston was great. David Tennant is a bit too jolly/hammy (not that he's a poor actor).
