Vera Baird, Solicitor General and subject of Mike Lee film on abortion, says "conviction rate in rape trials is unrealistically low".

She fails to comment or notice that perhaps the amount of genuine rapes in ratio to false allegations is realistically low.

She fails to consider that perhaps the conviction rate is low because defendants may be innocent.

She fails to mention that perhaps the willingness to believe should not be so high and that people have many reasons to lie or reinvent circumstances.

Isn't this a possibility?

Are we going mad?

Oh I'm with you on this one and I am angry..sooooo angry when I hear this rubbish.

3 years ago I flew from Bangkok to Sydney and unfortunately was seated beside a woman who insisted on engaging me in talk.

She turned out to be a well known "anti-pedo" crusader who regularly goes to Asia and as she puts it.."to track down pedophiles and expose them" in co-operation with Aussie police who basically tell Thai police what they should do.

So she bored me witless for 3 hours (in a 9 hour flight) about how she had been a drug addicted prostitute at 13 etc etc..but got completely pissed on those little red bottles of wine..about 10 at my count. And then she leaned over, groped my crutch and forced her disgustingly drunken mouth upon mine and forced her tongue in my mouth !

I literally had to force her hand off my crutch as she clung on tight. And then, thank God , she passed out.

I asked to be moved..the flight attendants said there were no seats left..I said then- OK I will be suing the airline for allowing me to be sexually assaulted..and was quick smartly moved to Business Class !

The woman actually appeared about 6 weeks later moaning about how "sex offendors should have their passports removed so they can't travel ( why is a mystery).

Yet if I wanted I could have gone straight to the police upon arrival, I could have had her restrained on the flight..I could have done any number of things and then looked forward to accusing her in court ( whilst remaining annonymous)and put my hand out for the ample compensation on offer.

As it is-it's just a dinner story to amuse..or is it ?. Should I have shopped the bitch..I bet she would have had me up for rape if it was the opposite !
