Rather sad as Casino Royale was in the Top 5 Best Ever Bond films; this is in the worst ever.

The director clearly doesn't know how to make a movie. Too fast editing; many too many closeups in the action sequences; music drowning out the dialogue; totally confused story telling (I think there's quite a good plot in there but he ruins it); cardboard characters; poor Judi Dench looks in despair for most of it...

30% of the audience walked out early.

Bad.

Oh dear... never liked Bond movies anyway so not missing anything but what you said about it JK, says much about why I stay away from the movies. Movies have dialogue... what is dialogue for? You want to listen to it... I find it impossible nowadays since the music and sound effects are booming out all around you and yet the dialogue resembles a pinprick within the maelstrom.

At least there was no such problem with VPTM... the dialogue didn't have music behind it drowning it out and the music told it's own story. It moved along at an ideal pace. I'm not sure you'll ever realise just how refreshing that was for me in this day and age where one is expected to be bombarded by a barrage of quick cuts, sound effects, CGI and unintelligible dialogue. All the more astonishing then how you can make a better movie using a mere fraction of what the BIG movies spend on their promotion... and give it away for FREE!

I have never been a Bond fan anyway (unless I am reading the books or hearing a radio play), it`s the title that gets me on this one.

What the heck does "Quantum of Solace" mean in plain English to the average person?

To those that don`t know, the actual title in plain English is "How Much Comfort", brilliant! What was wrong with James Bond part 20? (or whatever?)

There is unmissable in films and unkissable in my book, I desperately tried to get in to the last one, and even watched it twice and to this day, all I can recall is "Bond", completely choreographed , rolling out of the way of a speeding car.

I do recommend that if R4, run the radio plays again, tune in, they are very amusing.
