Pub goers have to have drug tests to gain entry to their local pub......

Imagine this - you want to go for a nice night out with friends but in order to get into the pub you have to Q up and take a Police Administered Drug Test.

Of course if you dont take drugs it is no problem - but it is because you are not free to go to a pub for a beer. Most people will opt instead to go to an off license and stay at home and watch TV rather than Q in the wet and cold outside a pub waiting to be approved by the Police in order to have a drink.

Other forums have asked - "is this government trying to stop people meeting together ?" and my answer is yes they are. They want people to stay at home in the evenings. Curfews are always the first thing to take place in dictatorships - our curfew will be a slow drawn out closure of places to go and meet. Pubs and venues will turn into flats - and only Stadia remain with highly exhorbitant ticket prices which mean that going out is not a nightly thing but a once every few months event. We lose touch with each other and then write on forums like this about the latest TV shows.......

Real criminals meanwhile are out raping and robbing and the Police say they dont have the resources ( yet each of these machines cost

Once you start delegating such powers to people like that, then we can safely assume our freedoms are well on the way out of the window.

The most amusing pub incident I have ever had, was during one of those boring essential buying clothes on a Saturday morning shopping trips, I decided at Midday, the whole thing might be less painful after a swift half.

Now people that know me, know that I can slouch sometimes if I am doing something I don`t like (I.e. shopping).

The bouncer on the door said "Have you been drinking sir?"
"Of course not", I replied "but I think that you will find a lot of people through that door behind you may be doing so it at the moment!"

"I`m sorry , I`m not going to let you in!"

I burst out laughing as the whole thing was just so funny, it cheered me up no end.(but made the bouncer very cross)
I do so love the strange UK ethic of not letting anybody in to a refreshment place or entertainment venue but quite happily completely intoxicate people then throw them out again.

I don`t intend to go another night club/pub again unless I am working in it and I bet many people feel the same, so don`t forget that this "fear of rejection" also does get to people.

I imagine this is aimed more at night clubs than at local pubs. Lots of drug problems at night clubs. But as usual the law will be badly written so that the swabs can taken at any establishment.

My incident was actually at a Wetherspoons on a football day.

I was in Ipswich on a similar football day, it was the local derby between them and Norwich City and a lot of the drinkeries did not even have bouncers they had policemen on the door.
An intersting one in contrast, as my entire crew got into a "locals only" establishment, purely because I was actually wearing a camaflauged army type coat. I was asked to take this off, so they could inspect it, and when the officers realised it was made of actual pig skin, they were intrigued! Quite a funny incident really, by contrast, this is regional problem.

already reports cropping up saying that people who have never touched drugs have been bundled into the backs of vans after "testing positive" for Heroin !!!!

Plus 90% of all paper cash in London is tainted with Cocaine supposedly - so 90% of people who use cash will probably test positive in London for drugs based on a swab test. ( also goes to show which people in society own the cash in the first place )

Final thought - Afganistan produces most of the drugs in the World....who runs this country......we do. Funny that.

Seems that New Labour has changed the licensing laws to stop any FREEDOM OF SPEECH in a pub.

Therefore people cant hold a meeting with a speaker anymore !!!

Shocked that this legislation has passed without any comment from Civil Rights organisations.

The laws are all in place for total suppression of the population. Only by highlighting them like this can we make people aware.........

and the second tax rise this year on drinks means that more than the current 36 a week closing will be on their way.....

If any pubs deserve to close, it's the Wetherpoons ones - they have given pubs a bad name and put many of the good ones out of business by selling cheap pints to students and dirty men with beards who smell of old wee
