a literary lunch with Roger Moore tomorrow 15 Years, 5 Months ago
I don't care what others say..Roger Moore was my favourite James Bond..so tongue in cheek.

I'm going to a literary lunch tomorrow for his autobiography..can't wait to hear him and read the book. Critics say it's the best autobiog since David Niven's. Moore must be in his 80's now.

Saturday I went to the Sydney premiere of the Quantum of Solace..and what a lovely bloke Daniel Craig is..so friendly ( and so tiny !). Those blue eyes..can they be real ?

And after the Roger Moore lunch that night..the premiere of Baz Luhrmann's "Australia"..what will this be like..either the biggest turkey or a huge success. Nicolle Kidman..is she sexy ?. Not to me.

Can she and Hugh Jackman sizzle on the screen as lovers ?..mmmm

I'm not sure if 3 hours of splendid sweeping shots of the Australian outback and cattle herding is a turn on. The Japanese bombing of Darwin is said to be sensational but the re-make of the bombing of Pearl Harbour was the biggest flop ever, despite the amazing scenes.

And who put up the $150M for Australia ?- Rupert Murdoch and Fox. Expect glowing praise from the critics in The Sun, The Times, BSkyB..etc

I didn't like Moulin Rouge..hated it yet the French loved it !

answering my own post..wow..'Australia' is nearly 3 hours long !..and has every cliche in the book..kangaroos, boomerangs, endless shots of wide sweeping and amazing landscapes, stampeding cattle, sweeping shots of thousands of sheep !!..and lot's of "crikey" and naturally they sing "Waltzing Matilda " in the pub !

My biggest surpise..Nicole Kidman is excellent and Hugh Jackman will set lady's hearts a'flutter..plenty of topless beefcake shots.

The most beautiful photography I've seen for many years and almost non-stop breathtaking action and the most amazing little 12 year old Aboriginal boy called Brandon Walters who steals the movie.

The Yanks will love this..they better..Rupert Murdoch has $150 Million riding on it !

and by pure co-incidence..every News Ltd newspaper in Australia has given it glowing praise !!

ps: best story I heard from one of the crew..in the country town where they made the film they asked all the local farmers to stay out of town for a few days as the movie is set in 1939..ie: no new autos..so every farmer drove their utes into town and parked in the main street until they got paid to leave !!!
