Yes Smith is a prime example of someone who clearly intended to do good but got seduced by the desire to appeal to the punters and sold herself like a hooker to the tabloid editors and headline makers.

But I think she's been pressurised into it by outside forces although, from Wednesday, ignorance of that fact will not make the tabloids immune from prosecution.

I do have to say that the rudest thing that I have seen anybody do on television was Jacqui Smith beginning an interview with the lovely man on Sunday breakfast television, with her eyes arrogantly shut, yesterday.

I do feel that one has to be feeling very safe and high on a hobby horse before behaving like that in any public place.

Smith has clearly lost any decent morals and values that we need for a Home Secretary. She needs to resign.

The raid on an OPPOSITION MP - if she knew about it she should go for massive misconduct in a democracy : if she did not know about it when it was her friend making the allegation and her favourite Policeman DICK in charge - then she should resign because of her incompetence in running any effective Anti Terror campaign in the UK.

For one day last week our ANTI TERROR resources were being used to oppress free speech. Surely that alone means she should resign.

What is clear - REAL ABUSE goes unpunished under Labour ( BABY P etc ) yet FALSE ALLEGATIONS are used to deal with "opposition" and for "spin purposes". That is the real picture of UK 2008.

Unfortunately RTD semi humanised the Daleks, so they may indeed be vulnerable to tabloid influence, especially if they work out that the tabloids can be used to control the minds of the populace.

And it was that "semi humanisation" of the Daleks RTD introduced that turned me against him and his makeover of "Doctor Who". Never did a single episode of a fictional TV series anger me so much as that one... especially following on from that stupid farting Aliens two parter that was truly dire.
