It's not the mistake that worries me.

I actually feel that it makes sense for police attempting to stop suicide bombers to shoot, if they believe it right, before the loonies can detonate.

But what worries me is the blatant attempt to lie afterwards to get away with it, especially when dozens of passengers were witnesses.

Evil is worse when linked to stupidity.

Bush, Blair, WMD and an invasion without a plan for immediately afterwards is stupidity compounding evil.

And the Menezes situation highlights another aspect of the institutionalised immorality in the police which teaches lying above truth. The recruiting of men and women who get a kick out of killing and allow adrenalin and excitement to rule their lives - and know they will never be held accountable.

Does anyone recall the shooting of a young man in Earls Court about 30 years ago ?.

I think it was about 6 Special Branch officers who had a tip-off that an esaped prisoner was living there and travlling in a Mini..as this young bloke drove down Earls Court Rd the officers jumped out and pumped dozns of bullets into his car..except it was the wrong person.

I think he was shot at least 15 times but survived. I'm almost sure the police involved weren't 'punished' in anyway..the victim eventually recovered and received a small fortune in compensation. There were serious attempts to assasinate the young chap's character as well.

I don't think the circumstances of the Menendez case are at all unique.
