TOPIC: Colin Stagg innocent after all

Colin Stagg innocent after all 15 Years, 4 Months ago
Robert Napper, a convicted sex killer, has admitted stabbing to death young mother Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common more than 16 years ago.

Will the police finally apologise to Mr Stagg and admit they got it totally wrong ?

And is Napper, already serving life, any more guilty than Stagg was?

Bet he gets loads of prison privileges for helping the police look good.

I really don't trust anybody in the judicial system.

The police morality remains as bent as ever; they just use new methods to stitch people up.

Child minder yet again acquitted of murder. Hmm.

Sadly I agree. The system is now so corrupt that it in turn, corrupts police. There will be honest and sincere coppers but a few bad ones can do so much damage . I find it so depressing.

And I can see no change on the way. It's the system-corrupt to it's core and not one brave politician wil take it on.

And don't you wonder why such positive DNA evidence didn't lead to a trial?

"No", you may say, "that's what persuaded barking mad loony Napper to confess".

After all these years? Pull the other one. The police did not want their flimsy evidence tested in court. They wanted a nice clean confession and guilty plea so the meeejah could fall for the crap.

What did Napper have to lose from a court case?

JFK was a brave politician. Look what happened to him.

JFK was not brave - he was greedy and corrupt, his death was a tool in the anti-commie propaganda of the time

JFK was killed because of a percieved 'weakness' which became apparent during the cuban missile crisis.

He was very much part of the establishment and I suspect very keen to preserve much of the status quo on behalf of daddy's friends.

I believe JFK was going to take the US out of Vietnam and his brother RFK sailed dangerously close to the wind when he challenged the power of the corrupt J.Edgar Hoover at the FBI- who declared there was no such thing as the Mafia ( despite JFK's father having enlisted the Mafia's aid during elections).

There must have been a dozen groups wishing to assasinate JFK but his death certainly put an end to the enlightened polcies of Kennedy.

I was absolutely horrified at the Crimewatch programme on Colin Stagg and the lengths they went to get him convicted.

He was initially arrested for not being a normal run of the mill guy (being interested in so-called strange things), then when he trotted out the 'I didn't do it' line over four days of questioning, they resorted to Criminal Psychology and a honeytrap.

After all that and still finding no evidence, they still charged him with the murder of Rachel.

At the end of programme it was revealed the undercover woman who posed as the Honeytrap for Stagg got over 100K for post traumatic stress (insert your own cheap shot there).

Oh and yesterday, the police finally apologised to Colin Stagg, three months after he was rewarded compensation. Absolutely disgraceful.

Picking up on JK's point, how did they get Napper to confess, seeing he has in a high-profile secure institute.

Feel very sorry for Rachels parents, and her son who must be now 18, I do hope that they have some form of closure now.

It was a compelling hour of television, such a shame it wasn't fictional.

Colin Stagg got 706K as compensation, I wonder what JK would get if your convicitons are overturned. Not that I believe for a second that money is the main motive in JK's instance, as their are an awful lot of other reasons which have been written on this website.

The Stagg/Napper situation on the same day as Suzanne is finally acquitted of the death of the epileptic toddler in her care should be considered alongside the Jersey coconut murder investigation and the "I miss you sooo much" Matthews case. Chuck in Sally Clark, Barry George, Sion Jenkins and all the other recent miscarriages of justice and the relationship between police, media and justice becomes very clear.

Surely there is a huge award winning article here?

Answer - don't hold your breath.

I couldn't help a sharp intake of breath and a wry smile as I heard a police spokesman claiming {on the PM programme} that no investigation into the police's conduct with regards to Stagg was needed as "it couldn't happen today". Couldn't it? There's a whole herd of pigs just flown by my window. With the police bound by "targets" and always an eye on the next promotion, the fit up is as much an instrument of policy as ever it was.

The police did apologise to Stagg. You can understand why he was originally convicted. He did confess to the crime after all.

Also he got
