Police Ban Jokes in Wales 15 Years, 4 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1097784...olice-ban-jokes.html

Not a laughing matter.

This shows how bad the "Police State" situation has got in the UK.

Ordinary citizens are not allowed to publish jokes anymore.

There is no apology by South Wales Police saying that this officer was wrong. They backed him up.

We are all now being watched and threatened by the "Police State" In fact the internet is the only place left where they have not got the resources to shut up people who disagree with them and its worldwide nature means no one Government can close it down easily.

I believe we could abolish the Police in the UK and most people would not notice they were gone. Private security could provide the necessary protection for finance and could also be hired to make sure events were "policed" They are just a total waste of taxpayers money. They should never have taken away the need for Police to have some qualifications.

very dodgy legally.

The shopkeeper was publishing the poems and unless they contain racial vilification, were obscene or blasphemous , the police should have advised the complainant that their only recourse if offended was a civil action.

Sounds like the police won't back down as they are clearly wrong and were backing a colleague..(nothing new there !)

So imagine when it's a much bigger matter like sexual assault or murder etc. They never back down even when it's proved they were wrong in court.

And nothing ever happens to them..wake up Jacqui Smith !

what a surprise that this story is from the Daily Mail.

and well done to the Mail for getting the phrase "political correctness gone mad" in- they seem to get that in everywhere

on a gay site I belong to they call it the "Daily Hate Mail".

I dont understand why the paper it is in has any bearing on this story.

It seems to be a true story about the way in which our rights are being eroded by the Police.

The Daily Mail does not have any "hate" stories as far as I am aware - why not provide some links to their hate stories for us to see what you are suggesting.

Yes - it is a bit pompous as a newspaper and I dont like its political view ( It backs Gordon Brown ) but it has ordinary news stories about ordinary people which are often quite interesting.
