Norman Wisdom dies... oh no he doesn't! 15 Years, 4 Months ago
Just seen the sad news on sky news that comedy legend Norman Wisdom has died. There aren't many of the old greats still around. Barbara Windsor, Bruce Forsyth, Mike Yarwood are the only comedians/comedy actors from my childhood that are still alive.
After Harold Pinter, Eartha Kitt, and now Norman Wisdom why do so many people die around Christmas.

I'm glad I'm wrong, or rather sky was wrong. Trust sky to report a story before it is confirmed. Is there a major apology on there website, no I don't think so.

I'm pleased that Sir Norman is still alive. As a kid I absolutelty adored Norman Wisdom films and I still love to watch them.

I've writen on here before of how Sir Norman is a huge star in Albania.

Under Communism few western films were allowed to be screened but one exception were Wisdom flicks..he was always the worker up against the bosses and always won in the end..hence his popularity there.

He can still go there at his age and fill a concert hall !

Poor Norman's been left to rot in some small nursing home for over a year now. His family have refused to allow any of his friends to have any contact with him and ordered nursing staff to forbid anyone who doesn't know their "password" to be allowed to see him.

I believe Norman has been suffering from dementia of the last couple of years, so sadly he won't be filling any theatres any time soon.

He has been suffering from vascular dementia for the last two years which explains his absence from the tv and stage - and the fact that he is going to be 94 in 2009! I think the other stuff is a bit embellished, but with some showbiz families and that wealth you can imagine there may be a few vultures circling
