Great footballer, seems like a nice guy - am I right in suggesting alcohol is responsible for more evils than many credit?

I'm sure that this incident will blow over and is just a case of the media over-inflating a minor scuffle. I'm sure that Steven Gerrard isn't the sort of person that would initiate violence, he has been a model professional so far. The cop that arrested him was probably a Man Utd fan trying to nobble the Liverpool captain.

I think that he has been very hard done by in this incident.

It does look as if he was the aggressed against and his "mates" came to his defence.

A real shame because on the pitch and off it I agree with JK - a model professional who has none of the "big time Charlie" attitude of many professional footballers.

Lets hope common sense prevails and the magistrates court throws it out on a technicality. Surely the Police will have made some mistake

Is it not a little bit fucked up with everyone (and not just on this messageboard) portraying Gerrard as some kind of 'victim'?

Surely, the victim is the guy in hospital with his face handing off, no....?

yes you are right..all drugs cause problems. Funny that some are legal and widely promoted and advertised and others aren't.

Agreed Pete. Maybe, just maybe he's been a naughty boy and those who were with were naught too? Lets have a fair balance. He may be an excellent sportsman on the pitch but once the drink kicks in.
