Can someone tell me why this woman has been given an MBE? She should not have been allowed to go to the Olympics. Yes, she served her ban but others have also served bans and have been excluded from major competitions for life.

Remember she was only banned for missing doping tests. Now some may believe there's no smoke without fire, but she has never tested positive.

The honours thing is pretty worthless.

When you consider that BRUCEY has not got a Knighthood yet both of his Saturday night presenters from the 70s ( Jimmy Saville and Sir Cliff) have got a knighthood.

Seems that you get honours for being in the "press" which in itself is surely a big enough honour.

The "unsung" never seem to get an honour.

For instance the longest serving Football League manager is a bloke called GRAHAM TURNER ( Fergie apart ) and he has saved his football club and got them promoted from Non League to League One in the last 3 years with NO MONEY. Now that is unfashionable in 2008 - they give the sports awards to Olympians who have only achieved one thing in their careers. Whereas GRAHAM TURNER has achieved two promotions in the last 3 years without ANY government funding or help.

How this bloke is not SIR GRAHAM TURNER is beyond me - it has to be political because his club is in a Liberal area. If he had been in charge of REDDITCH I am sure he would have gongs galore.
