I veer between supporting the existence of Israel to believing it really is a rogue nation that should vanish and it's people absorbed throughout the world.

George Galloway puts it well about the establishment of Israel :

"In 1917, British minister Arthur Balfour made a move, unprecedented, even in imperial times. On behalf of one people (us), he promised a second people (the small group of Atheistic Jews who called themselves the Zionists) the land of a third people (the Palestinians). "

While that is a tragedy, although details have yet to be independently confirmed, there are many things to consider. Hamas position there rocket launchers and military bases next to schools and hospitals to try to use the civilian population as shields. All sides in modern warfare have hit such places as schools and caused civilian casualties, even us against Hitler - so the comparison with the guestapo is a bit iffy. Remember Dresden? If the school had pupils in it, we have to ask why when it was known that Israel was bombarding the region. Hamas have lobbing rockets indiscriminately into Israel for eight years now, and this has to be stopped somehow. I doubt that Israel intentionally targeted the school, unless there was a Hamas base within.

The only way to avoid casualties is to not start a war. In an ideal world that would be easy, but human nature is far from ideal; there is always some evil sod wanting to push a button and the rest of us end up having to stop them. I wish we could all live in peace. I'll continue to wish that, but reality isn't like that.

Hamas most certainly do as you say but what can ordinary folk do about it ?. And this is the problem..the Israelis...no..the right wing nut jobs currently running Israel talk as though civilian can somehow force Hamas to do differently.

Thus the Israeli rulers oommit the most horrendous crime imaginable..collective punishment..the same that happened to them during WW2.

However..in my hours of research on Germany & the Nazis for documentaries, TV mini-series etc. , I've spoken to dozens of concentration camp survivors ( a complicated and difficult task).

And many will eventually tell you that some of the people they came to fear the most were the "trustees"..Jewish prisoners who had gone to the dark side to assist the Nazis.

Psychopaths come from every race.
