Final conclusion - the media has gone mad. 15 Years, 3 Months ago
Delighted by the latest NSPCC ststistics that 53 children a day are sexually abused in the UK, every single media outlet ignores the reality that 53 children a day REPORT they have been sexually abused - the vast majority are wrong, misunderstandings, malice, stupidity, inaccurate.... and do not lead to any kind of prosecution or even investigation.

Isn't THAT the headline?

I was thinkingt that as I read the story on AOL. It said that police received this number of reports, but did not mention how many of the reports had any substance or how many were found to be untrue. We had had official reports from other organisations that there has been an increase in false allegations. I seem to recall one claim, last year, that there had been an increase by 85% of allegations against teachers.

So many conflicting scare mongering stories. I'm no surprised people live in fear and confusion.

Yes, the truly terrifying thing, Al, is not the fact that, clearly, it is interpretation and false allegations growing, not real abuse, but that the media, totally, 100% are not prepared to see and report that, even when it is clearly written in the report.

it's truly a witch-hunt and what annoys me more than anything..is that every day I believe thousands of children are abused daily..mentally, physically and by neglect and that newspapers and politicians couldn't give a stuff about it.

The focus on the sexual angle reveals a society that truly is sick..and I don't mean the alleged perpetuators..I mean those who write about this and those who want to read it. I think they are highly suspect. At the same time-kids are dying in Gaza and Iraq-and we have helped do this-and the media treats them like they are nothing.

There are 2 high profile NGO's here in Australia I have had dealings with..both are the first on TV when there is a story like this. I have proof of one's involvement in crime and I'm always torn between reporting her whenever I see her friggin boat race in the media. Both get huge government subsidies and actually do nothing that involves helping children on a practical level.

It's Salem Witch Hunt time, it's "victim for profit " , it's government agenbcies and NGO's building power bases and very little to do with helping kids. I don't even believe the cops anymore.

When my stepdaughter was raped at the age of 8 and reported it I rang the NSPCC for advice. Particularly as her sister was at that time sharing a room with the man she had accused.

They did nothing and could give no advice.

My view of the NSPCC was that it is now a "propaganda" organistion which basically is paid to make "statements" like this.

When someone is genuinely abused or in a an abusive situation they offer ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except warm words.

In fact I would go as far to say that having such an ineffective Social Services and NSPCC ( bought out by abusers in my view ) is one of the reasons why genuine abuse goes unpunished and that we are seeing that in EVERY AUTHORITY CHILDREN ARE DYING from abuse.

This whole "sex - media" scam is a cover up of the real awful truth about what is REALLY GOING ON which is much worse.

The POLICE are in on this - they protect the real abusers whilst hassle celebs and middle class people - and the NSPCC provide a front which is supposed to assure us all that things are being done - whilst they are not.

It is a scandal and it is time that those in the MEDIA who push scantily clad teenage girls and boys down our throats every day - and those in positions of authority cleaned up their act.

Every week a child dies through genuine abuse and nothing is done about it.......whilst these people erect their smokescreens in order to hide these facts. Luckily the interent means whistleblowers finally have some freedom to tell the REAL STORY.

It says so in the report. And 53 cases a day might just have been noticed!

What is also fundamental JK is that a lot of kids that ARE being abused or at serious risk are being ignored by the system.

Baby P, Birmingham, Doncaster councils - how many more?
