This is a very sad story. It shows that in the Met Polices' showcase Police Station ( Colindale - Hendon Police Training ) racism is alive and kicking.

This is the sort of STOP and SEARCH which was around in the worst excesses of racist policing in the 70s and 80s.

I thought at least the Police now were non racist - yet this incident is very sad for this lad and his family.

How can the Police have any respect if they do things such as this.

To arrest someone who was quite obviously an art student like this and sexually degrade and humiliate them is WORSE THAN WHAT BOY GEORGE DID.

So are these POLICE OFFICERS going to get a PRISON SENTENCE - I hope so. Because their actions are despicable.

I hope BOY GEORGE's lawyers use this case to show how pathetic the case against their client actually is.

Clearly they are turning out coppers who cannot differentiate between a real villian and an innocent.

I find that one admired his body most amusing.
I once ran the Man To Man gay bookshop in Notting Hill for 6 months while the proprietor was a guest in Brixton for a tax misunderstanding.

He told when it was raided by the police ( which is was)to note which ones came back in plain clothes and spent hours in the video booths or bought items. Sure enough 3 did. He claimed these raids were eagerly look forward to by those in uniform !

Interesting..The Hendon Training Cente was run for years by Com.Peter Ryan..a more honest and intelligent cop would be difficult to find. He was recruited by the NSW Govt to rid the local police of corruption and found himself in a snakepit.

Finally resigned under a sustained attack from right-wing shock jocks and the Murdoch press..to take up a job paying four times his salary as the head of Olympic Games security which he still runs. Our loss-their gain.
Another media crime for partisan gain.

sadly while 95% of stabbings and shootings in London involve black people both as victim and attacker, it's always going to be disproportionate.

Until little old ladies go around in gangs with guns and knives, the target "stop and search" will always be those who resemble the ones involved in the crime.

presumably the "95%" are those that are known about.

If we add in the numbers of unsolved attacks , statistics could paint a different picture.
