Ruled by tabloid mock fury and broadsheet righteous indignation, our judges are sentencing by headlines.

This poor loony guy failed to set off his silly nail bomb... right, arrest him, convict him, sentence him but for God's sake sort him out, straighten him up, help him cope with life.

Not a life sentence surely?

Given the sentences the little bastards who were part of the Rhys Jones murder, this kind of sentencing makes me sick to the core.

for sure-the guy is seriously mentally ill and needs psychiatric help..and is a danger to himself and others and it would be safer for all for him to be in Broadmoor (the chances he will actually get help are pretty non-existent.)

But all the old canards are drummed out here :"converted to Islam", "preyed on, radicalised and taken advantage of" etc etc. Well hey, who isn't ?

Meanwhile 3 blokes who helped the murder a young kid in the North are given 6 years a piece.I saw no examination of the influences upon them, that turned them into the gun-obsessed yobs they are-devoid of compassion and scornful of authority (although I now the answer-Nu Labour !)

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said: "This case demonstrates that the threat to the UK from violent extremists remains real and serious.

"We need to work together to prevent people, especially young people, getting drawn into illegal activities."
.

Well no you dolt-it just means there will always be some sad people out there who cause mayhem and more likely blow themselves up. They will hardly bring about the destruction of civilistion as we know it.

But you might !
