I thought - in 42 years here I don't think I've ever seen so much snow in Bayswater.
I think I recall a blizzard in '82 that was almost similar but while I adore the snow I simply hate the sludge it turns to.
And the weather is the reason I travel on that arduous journey every year to the other side of the world..while you were cleaning that snow off the table I was reaching for a G&T at the lovely rocky seaside pool at Bondi Beach and perusing King Of Hits on my laptop.
One thing I've noticed-Bondi is usually packed to the rafters over summer..with British packpackers (who out-number the Germans by 2 to 1)..this year it's almost deserted. The tourism industry everywhere must be hurting badly. One way backpackers can survive so long in this country is by travelling up the coast taking part-time jobs for a month or so-stretching their holiday to 6 months. Those jobs are vanishing at a great rate.
