Mind you, I could never quite work out why they fired the special one.

I'm with you on that JK. Mourinho is the best club manager I have ever seen. The monster who owns Chelsea is a very ruthless individual and he will quit as soon as he sees a better opportunity and leave them up the creek.

I believe they let Mourinho go following differences of opinion with the chairman. Not sure about why Avram Grant left. His achievements matched Mourinho's. I doubt that any manager will totally impress the powers to be at Chelsea FC.

Portsmouth have also been a bit premature sacking Tony Adams. Portsmouth have been playing well and the fans liked him.

Premiership football is all about money these days, and managers are seldom given time to establish themselves.

Not a surprise at all if you've sat there every week since Scolari arrived, the only surprise is that they didn't wait until the end of the season. This has less to do with Abramovich being ruthless and more to do with stopping a very bad slide in performance, attitude and a general malaise that has gone through the whole team.

As for Abramovich moving on it's unlikely but it wouldn't put us in the crap as even in the credit crunch there would be a number of parties ready to step straight in. For those of us that have been going for the past forty years it doesn't really matter who owns the club or what division we're in , we'll still be going.

I remember when Chelsea were in Division Two.

Now they are one of the top four teams in the country and they are griping about their position. Nobody has a right to win matches, and I doubt that a new manager, who will need a few weeks to get to know the players, can make much difference, unless he has the gift of motivation. Once the players are on the pitch it's up to them. Cheslea has supposedly good players who are under-performing. Maybe it's the players who need the sack.

Chelsea do look very ordinary this season and other teams don't seem to be frightened of them anymore.
The team spirit they had under Mourinho seems to have gone, hence the lack of scraping a win from an average performance and staying in touch. Drawing at home to Hull, West Ham, Newcastle and Tottenham suggests they may be struggling to finish in the top 3 this season.
Is it motivation ? If you're earning more than half a million pounds a month, regardless of results then that may be the reason.

They got paid their fee regardless of whether it was successful and whether money was made or lost.

Sounds like a session musician/singer

Johnny Reggae or John Terry ?

Chelea have now become a laughing stock. Arsene Wenger's Arsenal are 5 points behind Chelsea, but will Arsenal sack Wenger? Of course not. They know that faith and loyalty mean everything in football, and it takes a good manager TIME to build a team.

Sir Alex Ferguson had fans booing him after just a few weeks from taking over at Old Trafford. The rest s history. Fergie IS the greatest manager the world has ever seen.

Scolari is a world class manager and a terrific guy!! Again Abramovich has shown that he is not only bad for Chelsea, he's bad for football.

Another two managers, and Abramovich will walk away and Chelsea will be left destroyed.

I hope it does happen as then the FA will be forced into taking action against billionaire playboys whom haven't a clue and view their clubs as toys they play with in their spare time.

But occasionally they spit the dummy out of the playpen.

The FA should stop all this nonsense now!!!

The same sort of thing happened with George Burley at Hearts a few years back. The russian owner wanted only success and wanted to pick the team as well. If Scolari wants a new challenge then he could come and give us a helping hand at Portsmouth.Im sure the best supporters in the land would give him a warm welcome!!!

scolari won the world cup with brazil but was totally unproven in the prmeiership or european leagues
does this make him a world class manager ?
not in my book, the worrying thing for chelsea is that hiddink's record does not look too good on closer examination, what has he won ?
chelsea could have done a lot worse than get eriksson, his club record in europe is brilliant and what he was acheiving at city looked very promising
i think many city fans would prefer him to hughes if only to do the double over utd
