I have a splendid huge TV set sitting in the corner of my room.
It's a giant Sony with enormous screen - at the time I think it was over £2000.
But it doesn't have a Scart socket and will be useless in tomorrow's digital world.
It still gets a great terrestrial signal with perfect picture.
But I fear I'm going to have to chuck it.
Any ideas?

I know a good scrap metal merchant.
Only joking, I know nothing about modern technology. I do, however, live in a town with no digital reception, and our switchover date is in 2011. Don't want to be lining Rupert's pocket!
Charity!? I know charity shops are always calling out for donations but blimey are they fussy! I filled a carrier bag with £10 notes (it was a fairly small bag) and tried to give it to charity shops here in Oxford, THREE turned it down because 'we can't accept anymore books at present'...the charity is becomming a Harrods store is something that really needs looking at - though I returned home with my money and am now having a holiday with it - point is that in Oxford it is difficult to find a charity shop that will accept a random bag of stuff (and AS PROVEN by my test they dont even look at what it is). Interestingly at a shop today I tried to buy ONE video for 50 pence (the offer was five for a pound) and they would NOT sell it to be funless I paid a pound for it (1 or 5 are a pound)...Im love giving stuff to charity but they make it soooooooooooo difficult.
Quite a few charity shops won't accept electrical goods anyway because they have to pay a technician to make sure it works and is safe for public sale!
Old peoples home?
The fact remains it's a simple solution to JK's problem (and it appears, yours!). It's a little more expensive than a standard Freeview box but massively cheaper than a new TV. You can have no complaints!
