more legal woes for tabloids , police, politicians 15 Years, 2 Months ago
I'm not going to mention the name or the incidents but I think JK deleted a thread on the subject (and quite rightly).

Recent calamities in Australia where nearly 250 people died and thousands have become homeless have become a media sensation there-although it's died down elsewhere.

One person has been arrested and charged. The tabloids went to town. That person's entire life has been examined down to the smallest detail including address (with photographs) names of family members-(some of this repeated in the British tabloids). That person's entire life has been exposed to the world.

Lynch mobs were being formed. Details were leaked to the media by police.

It's backfired spectacularly. 2 leading barristers-Greg Barnes ( who leans to the left) and Peter Farris QC (who leans to the right) and are both respected media commentators on the law have now declared that any trial will have to be abandoned or delayed for years because of prejudicial reporting. The possibilty of finding an impartial jury wil be impossible. The Law Society has weighed in lambasting the media and police.

The Police Commissioner for Victoria is back-pedalling at a million miles an hour in a panic requesting total silence-a week to late.

Ruled by the media..why couldn't they see it coming ?

## and I see it will now be illegal to photograph the police in the UK..over to you BR-David Icke was spot on predicting that one !
