I've been banned from yet another message forum for 'Causing genuine upset among members.'

Lots of simpering houswives were apparently 'outraged' that I had the audacity to question the media's motives in the Jade Goody show.

It showed 'great disrespect' and 'cruelty'. I am apparently a 'sick and sad little man'.

One of the simpering housewives even said 'Max Clifford was moved to tears when Jade took her vows..'

How very very very disturbing that we have so many insane people in this country.

It's sadly true that many people are happy to have their opinions formed for them and become outraged when forced to think about them, probably because they don't have a clue even themselves about why those opinions are the ones they hold. When the tabloids {like Caesar} say this... it is done. The "celebrity" culture {and just why was the bigoted, repellent racist Jade Goody- a woman with no discernable talent whatsoever- "celebrated"?} was promulgated and perpetuated by a tabloid press seemingly in order to speak for the people. I think all that means really is "keep buying our paper, it's got people just like you in it and you {and your kids} will get to see some tits too... " The hacks have become the arbiters of public taste. It's a bit like putting an alcohlic in charge of a boozer. Except that the effects are, disasterously, much longer lasting.

Wendy Richard as you all know died today having lost her fight against terminal cancer which Jade is apparently battling.

Spot the difference. How did Wendy go about tackling the meejah? She admitted she was terminally ill, got married and that was it. She fought in private with dignity, not blubbing away and whining to the meejah, all the while ensuring she makes as much cash as possible for her and Max and making herself a freakshow.

Wendy entertained millions for well over 40 years. She earned a lot of respect thanks to her work. By comparison just what has Jade actually done and given to us all these last few years?

Still... it's sad to know that the thought police are at work, telling us what to think and feel about Jade. The very same idiots who screamed that she was a racist in disgust and anger... and yet we're now supposed to have forgotten all about that and all is forgiven. It's a sad sad sign of how too many here in Britain have become brain dead sheep. These are the people who will protest over fictional characters getting jailed in a soap opera (remember that Free Deidre nonsense?) yet if their next door neighbour was wrongly jailed, or suffering terminal cancer, they wouldn't give a toss.

I really am becoming increasingly ashamed to be British.

I have not bothered reading much of the papers this week as it all about Jade Goody how does she claim to be famous just being on relality tv ?

Dave Dee battled his bout in private just like a normal person would do.

I agree with Elliott about Wendy Richards.

Freedom of speech is over in the UK as a concept.

The idea you just unplug the person you disagree with is catching on.

The methods vary :

1. On the street it is called stabbing.

2. On the net it is called Banning and Rubbishing

People have lost the ability to debate. They see things as black and white and their opinion is always the right one.

What a sad society has been created under New Labour. PC dogma now dominates every conversation - if you say the wrong thing ( even privately ) you can be arrested ( Nick Griffin BNP ) or banned from the Country ( That Dutch bloke) or kicked of TV ( Carol Thatcher )

Great job Gordon - try shutting up all 60 million of us when we have the pen in our hands at the next election

I've now had an email from one of the forum I was banned from members: This is unbelievable...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

THE FIRST PARAGRAPH WAS WAFFLE...
...Part of me is sorry to see you go, but even you have to admit you went too far. There are many people on this forum who have children and teenage daughters of their own, and their biggest dread is something happening to their children as it has happened to Jade. Like this or not Jade's illness has prompted women to undergo the horrible procedure of being tested for cervical cancer, wereas they may have never fully understood the risk. Have a go at the media, the tabloids, but your cruel jibes about a young woman with perhaps weeks to live were completely unacceptable. She is not demanding attention, she is fighting to raise money for her children when she is gone. She has also selfishly made many people far more aware about their own bodies and the risks of cancer....

I simply replied 'You are insane. Good-day'

"Fighting to raise money for her children when she is gone."

She just spent a million on her wedding. Ok, she wanted a special treat before she dies, but it showed that she already had plenty to leave for her kids but chose to spend it on herself. Not too much different to those mothers who complain they can't afford to feed their kids but still manage to smoke 80 fags a day.

I still think her children would appreciate her spending her final days with them more than any material things she might leave behind. If there is not some miraculous front page recovery, her children will be wined and dined on her name for years to come. Plus they have Max C to sell their sob stories. They won't go short.

Over at the BBC News site, there are hundreds of tributes from readers.

Interestingly, the most "recommended" post is this one from Tim.P in London...

"Such a contrast to a certain other celebrity who has been hogging the limelight...
Private, understated and humble.
RIP"

I'm genuinely surprised the BBC moderators (who have censored many posts of mine in the past) let this one pass and be published!

Look people can you get off Jade Goody's case. Most of you on here are rampant hypocrites, pontificating about how society is going to pot and the masses are really stupid etc. Yet you are mostly in an industry that requires the engine of publicity and notoriety in order to prosper. Shut up and leave her alone. Just because she chooses to live her life in public and make a fortune from it, is not reason for you to vilify her. Last time I checked, we lived in the UK and not some communist totalitarian state.

Do you think JK wouldn't relish the publicity if he had the chance ?

What a shameful attitude from a bunch of latent snobs.

Did anyone see the miserable old trout on Question Time the other night....?

This board has become a very shabby place.

Apparently, Jade Goody is sacred and is off limits for debate. People must not have differing views about her. We must all unite in adoration. Freedom of opinion is suspended.

Jane Tomlinson died of cancer in September 2007. In the months leading up to her death she campaigned for awareness of the condition and to raise money for the appropriate charity. She had never been on Big Brother or involved in controversy. She was unassuming and sincere. After all of her efforts - running marathons, taking part in triathlons, cycling across Europe, etc. - she managed to raise £1.5 million for charity; approximately the amount Jade Goody spent on her wedding day.

Jane Tomlinson was, rightly, acknowledge by the media, but she was only mentioned when she achieved her goals and, of course, when she died. There was no emotional focus on the future of her children. They still have a father and are well provided for, as are millions of other children around the world who have lost a parent.

Jane Tomlinson used her final days productively. She died with dignity and respect. She was a shining example to us all.

Yes - again I feel uncomfortable - nothing against Jade Goody who is quite entitled to do whatever she likes and it is only 100% natural to feel sadness for anyone dying and for those left behind.

I don't condemn her or her actions in any way.

I do feel it is undignified and I wouldn't want to go this way myself. I loathe Clifford and feel his advice is frequently destructive and harmful to all. I hate the media capitalising on death. I'm all for awareness of health but I fear this is an excuse to boost circulation rather than sincerity on the tabloids part.

I don't read the stories and I switch off the TV.
