TOPIC: Rollerblading pensioner
#41655
Rollerblading pensioner 15 Years, 2 Months ago
Seventy one year old Geoff Dornan was fined 300 quid for dangerously rollerblading in the town of Southport. The council said that he broke a byelaw regarding self propelled vehicles. How can our police force catch real criminals when they are prosecuting ridiculous cases like this one.

Yes, I did read about this.

Typical British Police of today. Pouncing upon "easy" targets like this elderly guy whilst the Chav brigade are left alone to skateboard, rollerblade and cycle all over the paths (and trust me, there's plenty of these tossers in Southport) shouting insults and generally being obnoxious little bastards... and the Police do nothing about those menaces.

well he was caught wasn't he..by being spotted by those wretched cameras on every lampost.

So now you know-far from helping to catch master criminals..as 'The Bill' would have you believe, they're briliant for helping to prosecute roller blading pensioners who are surely a threat to our very existence and way of life.

I envy him though having that much energy !

British Policing at its best. Pick on the OAP or weak person. Stinks.

Our Police have NO respect left in the UK. They are illegally enforcing illegal laws.

Our current Government has NO MANDATE to carry out these things. It was not in their manifesto and Gordon was not elected as Prime Minister.

We desperately need an election - but I bet GORDON will do a HITLER and make sure there is NO ELECTION next year.

Having been 'detained' in a kind of 'citizen's arrest' a few years ago I saw Police corruption first hand. The Citizen told the officer what they believed I had done. However the officer repeatedly (8 times I believe) told the Citizen what they wanted me to have done. Luckily for me the Citizen at least had a strong sense of what they thought they knew because the Police would have charged me with many offences when in fact, correctly, I was charged with none.

actually folks there is a bit more to this.

local residents had been complaining and had even picketed the court, according to the radio 4 coverage I heard.

This (to me) is not victimising an old man, but simply stopping someone rollerbladng in a pedestrian precint which could be dangerous.

nothing more, nothing less.
