This has happened many times before - life moves on.

The answer is - he would have been replaced by a student.

Few rules exist for this show. But you must be a student at all rounds and affirm that you are - and tell the BBC of changes in your student status.

This chap chose not to and quite correctly was disqualified. Why have rules at all ?
